Edition 1310

A NOTE FROM ME

I’ve been thinking about why I feel the urge to write this newsletter. It’s always felt like more than just sharing what I like. My boyfriend tends to tell me I’m too profound, but I’d rather be too deep than surface-level.

It’s the same with Edition 1310. It’s not about me — it’s about seeing the possibilities for building a life you’ve always dreamed of: who you want to be, personally and professionally, how you want your home to feel, and who you want to follow along the way. A whole world of possibilities.

Anywayy… let’s get to today’s topics!

THE ONE TO WATCH

FRANKIES BIKINIS

If childhood me could pick a brand to run, it would be Frankies Bikinis. It’s definitely one of those brands that feels made for the girls on social media — full of playfulness, fun, and that California-girl dream life. And, continuing last week’s FRAME theme: it’s sexy!!!

The bikini brand for becoming her

ABOUT

  • A bikini brand founded by Mimi & Francesca Aiello — Frankies Bikinis began in their Malibu home in 2012, when Francesca was just 17. What started with bikinis has grown into a full lifestyle brand — from swim and clothes to knits, activewear and the sweetest collaborations. (their story)

  • Swimwear, but make it a dream life — The bikinis are still the foundation, but Frankies creates campaigns around the person you want to become: cute, sexy, carefree, and fully in her own world. From Pamela Anderson to Gigi and Bella Hadid, their collaborations feel less like celebrity names added on top and more like different versions of the Frankies girl.

  • Why their POV matters — Frankies isn’t trying to follow the next trend or make itself more grown-up to be taken seriously. It leans all the way into a dreamy, playful, girly world — where imagination is really the only limit. That’s why it resonates: it gives you permission to want the fun, the fantasy and the extra version of life, without apologising for it.

What would be your dream day like?

Not only is Frankies female-led and rooted in empowerment, but it is also great inspiration if you’re thinking of starting a brand. At its core are not expensive campaigns, but a clear moodboard. The brand started with Francesca making custom bikinis for herself, then her friends — before gaining attention on Instagram. The need and the fun came before business and profit.

My three thoughts on Frankies Bikinis

  • 01 — The original Frankies girl is her mum

Before the supermodels, dream campaigns and tiny bikinis, there was Francesca and Mimi making suits at home in Malibu. Mimi was the person cheering her on, helping build it and reminding her she could actually do it. That is why Frankies feels so warm underneath all the cool-girl energy — it was built with someone who felt like home.

  • 02 — Pretty can be powerful

Frankies was built to make ALL women feel confident, powerful and beautiful. And I love that they do not separate those things: you can care for your body, love being feminine and still take up space. Feeling good in yourself is not frivolous — it can genuinely change how you move through the world.

  • 03 — Pick your (summer) alter ego

Pamela, Gigi, Bella — their collaborations are not just famous faces in bikinis. Each one gives you a different version of the Frankies girl to try on: sexy, romantic, playful, slightly wild. The clothes are an invitation to step into the version of yourself you feel like becoming — even if it is only for one beach day.

What started as Francesca’s vision in high school has grown into more than 10 stores across the US. A reminder that when you see what’s missing, you can build it yourself. Swimwear might have had its moment, but Frankies feels built for more than one summer — because the world they’re creating is so clear.

TO FOLLOW

THE LUXURY HOME SHOW

Don’t be put off by the name or the very dramatic YouTube titles, because The Luxury Home Show is actually one of my favourite home accounts. They tour houses all over the world, and I’m especially obsessed with the architect-led projects. The details, the symmetry, the way someone has thought about every corner…

SAVED

PATRICK AHEARN

My favourite thing to watch on Sunday mornings is Home & Living. Well, this past Sunday, it was all about Patrick Ahearn. I think people often confuse love and attention with luxury. I’m not interested in the loud price-tag headlines in house-tour videos, but in mindful living, craftsmanship and integrity. And that is exactly what Ahearn’s vision feels like.

ON MY MIND

AM I CRAZY?

That’s what my family and people close to me are thinking saying right now (to be fair, probably nothing new). Maybe I am. And maybe I’m wrong, and everyone else is right.

We treat life as a group project. It’s uncomfortable to hear, but the decisions I let others influence are the decisions I actually regret. Maybe the conference-table talk works for some, but in my life it drove me further away from myself.

Just because “I don’t know” right now doesn’t mean I’m not self-determined. If women are emotional anyway, don’t irrational decisions belong to us inherently? I’m not a damsel in distress. I’m here to save myself — even if it takes more time.

Because what if you bet on yourself? Do it 100%, and maybe you only get it right 80% of the time — or even 60%. I’d rather be wrong in a life that feels like mine than right in one someone else chose for me.

See you next week.
